In your son’s name.
(From The Woodsman’s Notebook)
In your son’s name I commit my eyes, so I may see your
great plan you have for me.
In your son’s name I commit my ears, for your word is
most important to me.
In your son’s name I commit my tongue, for only your
word I need speak.
In your son’s name I commit my heart, for me to feel
your compassion towards others the way you feel towards
me.
In your son’s name I commit my hands, to hold that is
what is precious to you.
In your son’s name I commit my arms, to carry all that
you need me to.
In your son’s name I commit my feet. To walk the miles
that others may see.
In your son’s name I commit my legs, so I may stand up
straight for others to see that your power and glory you
have safely stored in me.
In your son’s name I commit my soul, for your wisdom to
shine through. |

- In your son’s name Lord Jesus Christ I
commit my being, for all these years it was
not I but you that carried me.
Now this body may be old and gray but not
yet tired to live for you day by day.
- But into your glory some fine day when
you come to this earth to take me away with
a song, you will take me home where I
belong.
There is one more thing before I go; I thank
you Lord for restoring my soul, for today
Lord I see the light, the real difference
between wrong and right.
I thank you Lord for everything.
