If God came to you
(From the Woodsman’s Notebook)
Sometimes I wonder just what you would do
If God said I’m coming to visit you, just what you would
do? Would you worry? Would you hide? Would you offer to
pick him up and give him a ride?
If God called you on the phone, just what you would do?
Not answer as if you were not home? Would you answer
with a voice of fear? Would you give praise that he is
near?
If God came to your house in the middle of the night,
just what you would do? Would you let him in until first
light? Would you say please stay with enthusiasm and
delight?
If on the street God passed you by, just what you would
do? Would you shutter? Would you cry?
If God came to you with a simple request, just what you
would do? Would you pass it to the next? Would you leave
it for the rest? Would you jump at the task to do your
best?
If God came to you with a gift to share, just what you
would do? Would you accept them with loving care? Would
you dare to look him in the face with an ungrateful
stare?
If God came to you with the burdens he bares, just what
you would do? |

- Would you attempt to comfort and console him and
understand his ware? Would you make an attempt
to help him fare? Would you just look past him
with heartless stare?
If God came to you asking for your help, just
what you would do? Would you offer with heart
and soul? Would you help to meet his goal? Would
you pass him by with no time to show?
What would you do if God closed his door?
