Normal?
(From the Woodsman’s Notebook)

What is so normal about the way you live your life?
Just to criticize the way I live mine.
What is normal for me obviously is not normal for you.
Everyone should live just like you.
In your normal little way you are never wrong,
Why do I waste my time on this silly sad song?
Though you have not a clue what you are talking about,
if I don’t agree you just tell me to get out.
But where were you as we were growing up,
while I was kept in the house with the windows drawn shut.
You were out playing hard, getting bruised, scratched and cut.
Again while I was kept in the house with the windows drawn shut.
You claim I took the love of your mother away,
Do you think it was my choice that she acted that way?
Do you feel it a choice of the road I lead?
Or would she have shown more love for had I been dead?
You think that the pain I was going through she put you all a side.
All the teasing and the ridicule, you have no clue what you put me through,
I only wish that I died.
Didn’t it ever occur to you how much I prayed?
Just to be healthy to play with you each day.
Yes, like you, I prayed to be each day.
As I stared out that window watching you play.
Did you ever once come in and say,
hey little brother let’s do something in here today?
So please don’t criticize me on how I live my life.
Just spend your time now just you and your wife.
Today I have a thought or two, which I would kindly like to share.
But I won’t waste my time, I know you don’t care.

Acceptance, in spirituality, mindfulness, and human psychology, usually refers to the experience of a situation without an intention to change that situation.
Acceptance does not require change ...
