We have been stabbed in the back, criticized, and treated as if we were nothing more than a killing machine by not only by other countries we have helped or defended. Even by our own neighbors to our north protests go on against our forces.
Why do we do it? What is the sense? Why do we defend those that can’t defend themselves? Why do we feed the world’s hungry? Why do we rebuild the world’s destruction? Why do we stand Proud and Salute a flag of red, white and blue? Why do we honor and obey our commander and chief? Why does our commander and chief honor and defend us?
So who are we? What do we stand for?
Courage, Commitment, Candor, Competence, Duty, Honor, Integrity
Loyalty, Pride, Respect, Selfless Service.
Even after all of this, and you still don’t understand what it takes to be a Patriot well I can’t tell you.
Seems to me that at one time UN was an acronym for United Nations. Somebody want to tell me when it changed to the Ultimate Nit Wits?

Shadow

 (From the Woodsman’s Notebook)

The shadow a vapor noticed only by few’

to some that may see it but never by you.

A light form, a haze, a blur in the night,

In a blink of an eye, it is gone from sight.

The shadow insignificant as a puff of smoke,

To many of people it’s sort of a joke.

To others it’s something to prod or something to poke.

in the shadow mind he’s that puff of smoke.

The shadow of course is nothing to fear,

It’s always beside you, it’s always near.

Why some are afraid is still unclear.

The shadow itself may have something to say

But down at your feet it will always stay.

Only to stand all alone in constant fear,

That the words he may say you may never hear

only to fall on the deafest of ear.

The shadow will see what most people should not,

It will feel the pains that most others could not,

It feels the sorrows that others will not.

I am that shadow that will one day be gone from sight.
